Prospective Employment Partners
Innovative Ways 4U is always on the lookout for additional Employment Partnerships to assist us in making a difference in the lives of individuals living with disabilities, but seeking more independence and fulfillment through employment experiences and opportunities.
What is an Employment Partner?
An Employment Partner is any business in the community willing to allow Innovative Ways in conjunction with the Texas Workforce Commission to place one or more of our clients at their business for work experience for a predetermined amount of time or to fill a permanent position depending on the current need of our client, the employer, and the phase of the process the client is currently experiencing.
Who are our clients?
Our clients are individuals who have been evaluated by counselors at the Texas Workforce Commission and have been deemed in need of employment services that add support and modifications for the individual in assisting them in obtaining employment experiences and eventually full time employment. This service, provided by Innovative Ways, comes in the form of building relationships with community employers, providing trained Job Skills Specialists for hands on assistance that is eventually phased out, eliminating barriers to employment that are not always obvious to the general public, and actively using a team approach throughout the process to keep all parties informed and necessary communication paths open.
How much will it cost an employer to participate as an Employment Partner?
There are no financial obligations or liabilities to the employer whatsoever. The Texas Workforce Commission takes on all liability and pays for the client’s support systems provided by Innovative Ways as well as the money earned by the client for working at your establishment.
What’s the catch?
There really is no catch, but just like with any other employee you’ve hired, there will be issues to work out. Personality conflicts, positive attitudes, negative attitudes, punctual workers, late workers, self-motivators, plodders, basically the same good things and bad things that you get with all young work forces. Our clients are just like every other employee out there, however, with the support provided by Innovative Ways, we have processes to help with these types of things so all you have to do is report the issue and our professional staff will work with you to come to a positive resolution for whatever issue crops up. Communication is key!
What’s in it for you?
As an employer, you do run the risk of gaining a dedicated and loyal employee and a positive community opinion for giving our clients an opportunity to prove themselves to be more than just their disabilities. Even if our clients come into your business for a short period of time just to gain work experience, in this day and age it’s good business to show the community that you are doing your part to give back and investing in works of good.
